FILIPINO RECIPE ~ SUWAM NA MAIS ~
Rediscover the original corn soup made with fresh corn and flavored with ginger and sili or malunggay leaves.
PINOY SUWAM NA MAIS INGREDIENTS
1 tsp. oil
1 clove garlic, chopped
1 medium-size onion, chopped
1 small ginger, sliced
3 cups shrimp stock, strained
2 pieces fresh corn, removed from the cob
Patis and pepper to taste
2 cups sili or malunngay leaves
PINOY SUWAM NA MAIS PROCEDURE
- Heat the oil in a saucepan then saute the garlic, onions and ginger.
- Add the stock and corn. Simmer until the corn is tender. Season to taste.
- Add the leaves just before serving.
