FILIPINO RECIPE ~ SEAFOOD KARE-KARE ~
Try out a different kare-kare using seafoods instead of pata or oxtail. Use whatever seafoods are available but be sure you do not over cook them.
PINOY SEAFOOD KARE-KARE INGREDIENTS
1 package kare-kare mix
200 grams sitaw, cut into 1/2 lengths
200 grams talong, sliced
1/2 kilo fish fillet, cubed
1/4 kilo mussels, cleaned
1/2 kilo prawns, cleaned
1/4 kilo oysters, shucked
2 tsps. kalamansi juice
Patis to taste
1/2 cup bagoong alamang
PINOY SEAFOOD KARE-KARE PROCEDURE
In a sauce pan, prepare the kare-kare mix as directed in the package. Drop the vegetables and cook until almost done.
Add the seafoods, paprika, and kalamansi juice. Boil once then simmer until seafoods are cooked. Season to taste. Serve hot with bagoong alamang.

I’ve only had kare kare with oxtail. Interesting idea with the seafood. It would definitely make for a less heavy dish for those warmer nights.
