PINOY PALITAW
PINOY RECIPE ~ PALITAW ~
Palitaw is a small, flat, sweet rice cake eaten in the Philippines. They are made from malagkit (sticky rice) washed, soaked, and then ground. Scoops of the batter are dropped into boiling water where they float to the surface as flat discs – an indication that they’re done.
PINOY PALITAW INGREDIENTS
3/4 cup water
1 1/2cups of white sugar
1 cup of sweet rice flour add to basket
1/4 cup sesame seeds
1/2Coconut Flakes
PINOY PALITAW PROCEDURE
- Make dough by mixing flour and water, roll up into balls and then flatten with the palm of your hand.
- Remove the balls and let it cool.
- Drop the balls into a saucepan full of boiling water, when the cakes are ready, they will rise to the surface.
- Roll the balls into the mixed sugar, coconut flakes and sesame seeds. Now it’s ready to eat!
